Potential workflow for AI imagen tools to create story-telling precise, artistic infographics.

tldr: you can pull svg shapes out of their charts, run them through stable diffusion and get unique, artistic infographics that are still precise and accurate to the original chart.

Need 1: any chart that is svg based (or I guess pngs but you do you, I prefer svgs)

Need 2: Some imagen software, Stable diffusion webui makes it pretty easy. If you can blindly type commands into a terminal you can install this, and as long as you have a laptop with mildly decent VRAM (I’m doing it best on a desktop with an older NVIDA RTX 2180)

Basically, charts are made of lots of pieces….
And usually that makes it fairly complicated to say…
Make more artistic infographics or have more in depth meaning
Or have more intersting conversations in relation to them
They can sometimes be precise but it takes effort
And anything really complex is high near impossible.
Some companies have made them a bit more artistic (Go IBM Design)
And some can’t even get basic infographics working…(old concept that died)
And very simply, you can pull the svg shapes out of a chart and use image to image software to make a more artistic version.
I did it with stable diffusion. You’ll want to play with the parameters, the ‘blur’ ones help figure out precision vs story.
These can be story-driven concepts of various levels of precision, vines to flowers, pathways up mountains trains traveling pathways.
Or more simply direct. The amount of bbq you’ve sold.
again
Or cake
Flowers
Flowers
Flowers
Pie charts
Or bug fixes getting turned into…
Mountains of dirt
Piles of sand you’re diggging through
Or just artisic technical fun
Bar charts are easy
Statues, toothpaste, blocks
As a way to tell stories when people aren’t really looking at your charts anyways.
